Love has inspired humans from time immemorial and continue to influence our daily existence. I am a big fan of Korean history, culture and so I spend hours delving into their past. I love their garments, their art, poetry, language and food. I came accross a famous historical korean woman recently, she was an artist, a writer, a calligraphist and a poet. Her story inspired this painting as I imagined her meeting her lover in secret at the foots of the Kumgang mountains.  Her name was Shin Saimdang.
